Auto-augmentation: using your own tissue instead of an implant

Imagine wanting a breast augmentation, and being able to achieve the same result without an implant under your breast. Is it possible? In some cases, the answer is yes!
Breast augmentation typically uses an implant to enhance and augment the breast.  These implants are filled with either silicone gel or saline, and their purpose is to simulate breast tissue—both the feel and the appearance of breast tissue.

At the Kryger Institute, we offer several exciting techniques of breast enhancement using your own tissue to augment the existing breast, hence the name auto-augmentation. How does it work? A Thousand Oaks breast lift is done, making the breast perkier, rounder and more youthful. Instead of discarding the excess skin and tissue from the lower part of the breast, this tissue is tucked deep under the breast serving as an “implant.” This “implant” is the most natural substitute for breast tissue available because it is your own tissue.

This technique can only be performed if you have the right anatomy. Particularly, you must have sufficiently large breasts (e.g. C cup or larger) that are also very saggy and droopy. In essence, this is the perfect operation for the woman who wants a breast reduction, followed by a Thousand Oaks breast augmentation.  As opposed to the traditional breast reduction, the scars are much shorter, the breast is much rounder and fuller in the upper chest, and the overall appearance and feel of the breast are superb.

What if your breasts aren’t large enough for this type of auto-augmentation, but you don’t want an implant? Another new and exciting option is breast augmentation with Thousand Oaks fat grafting. Fat is liposuctioned from the abdomen, hips, or thighs, carefully processed in the operating room, and then meticulously reinjected into your breasts. Obviously, you have to have sufficient excess fat to “donate” to your breasts, and no, another person cannot donate their fat for you (unless they are your genetically identical twin). In general, fat grafting to the breasts will result in only a modest increase in the size of the breasts, and it may require more than a single round of injections, since only about half the grafted fat survives.

In summary, these are just a couple of the latest techniques in breast surgery that are offered by Dr. Kryger, one of a handful of Thousand Oaks Plastic Surgeons in the country who is experienced with these techniques.

Cosmetic Face and Body Sculpting for Southern California residents

California has been known for its beautiful beaches, weather, and now—its outstanding cosmetic surgery. Plastic surgery has not drawn in residents but also out of town patients to areas like Los Angeles, Thousand Oaks, and Ventura. With an extensively trained and Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Ventura residents or out of town patients can truly benefit from face, breast, and body sculpting procedures all designed to enhance and correct imperfections allowing patients to look and feel confident about themselves.
As we age, fine lines and wrinkles begin to form in areas of the face around the eyes, forehead, and lips. Most patients considering cosmetic facial rejuvenation are usually those who have tried over-the-counter products that have promised to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles but have not shown desired results. With Botox Ventura residents and out of town patients have been able to smooth the look and feel of fine lines and wrinkles with a dermal filler that provides results for up to 4 months. Botox is a simple non-surgical cosmetic treatment that takes about 15 minutes for your plastic surgeon to administer. Repetition of the treatment is recommended every 3 to 6 months to maintain youthful, natural-looking results.
With body contouring, patients have the option to sculpt specific areas in the body that hold stubborn areas of fat, leaving the body with a disproportionate look.  In many cases, these localized fat deposits have their own nicknames like “love handles” or “saddle bags” when referring to the flanks or thighs. Men and women can now contour these areas of their body with a Liposuction procedure. Liposuction refers to excess fat in areas of the body being removed by suction through a cannula and techniques implemented by your plastic surgeon. In Ventura Tummy Tuck procedures specifically treat the abdominal area by not only the removal of excess fat but with a muscle-tightening technique to ensure results are not only thinned but sculpted.  During a Tummy Tuck procedure, liposuction may be administered to treat a separate area of the body. Liposuction gives the body an aesthetically pleasing overall figure and allows patients to look and feel confident, youthful, and healthy.
The top surgical cosmetic procedure performed, without a doubt, is Breast Augmentation. This may be because women directly relate the size and shape of their breasts with their sense of confidence and femininity. In Ventura Breast Augmentation procedures give women an overall figure that is more feminine in shape. With the correct breast implant size and type, women can receive a lifestyle-enhancing procedure. On a daily basis, the procedure allows women to feel confident with something as simple as shopping for clothes. Shopping for clothes can be embarrassing for women with small breasts as they cannot fill out the bust portion of the clothes as well, or look less feminine in certain types of clothing. There are many face, breast, and body procedures that can help both men and women feel confident and youthful. Always take the first step by consulting with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.
